What this page covers

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Some make the shop work; others measure how it is used or help with advertising. This page explains which ones this site uses and how you choose.

The banner you see first

On your first visit a banner asks whether you accept cookies that are not essential. It offers two choices of equal size: Accept and Reject. Nothing beyond the essential cookies runs until you have chosen, and if you make no choice the non-essential cookies stay off.

The banner is Shopify's own Customer Privacy tool. Your choice is stored in a cookie called _tracking_consent so that we do not ask you on every page.

Categories

  • Essential. Needed for the shop to work: your bag, the checkout, security, your country and currency, and your cookie choice itself. These cannot be switched off and do not need consent, because the service you asked for cannot be provided without them.
  • Statistics. Shopify's own analytics, which count visits and show us which pages are read. The figures are aggregated and are not used to build a profile of you. Since 5 February 2026, UK law has allowed low-risk statistics cookies like these to run without asking first, provided we tell you clearly and give you a simple way to object. We still set them only if you choose Accept.
  • Marketing. Set by advertising platforms (for example Meta or Google) to measure adverts and show you ours elsewhere. They run only if you choose Accept. This demonstration store uses none.

Cookies you are likely to meet here

Shopify publishes a current list of the cookies its platform sets at shopify.com/legal/cookies. The ones most visitors to this site will meet are:

  • cart, cart_sig, cart_ts — remember what is in your bag. Essential; about two weeks.
  • secure_customer_sig — keeps you signed in to your account. Essential; about one year.
  • localization — your country and currency. Essential.
  • _tracking_consent — your Accept or Reject choice. Essential; about one year.
  • _shopify_y, _shopify_s — Shopify analytics, which tell one visit from another. Statistics; about one year and 30 minutes respectively.

The checkout and payment pages are run by Shopify and by the payment provider you choose, and may set their own security cookies.

Changing your mind

Click Cookie settings in the footer at any time to open the banner again and change your choice. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block the essential cookies, the bag and the checkout will not work.
