Who you are buying from
This website is run by Maison Elowen Ltd, trading as Maison Elowen, a company registered in England and Wales under number 00000000. Registered address: 1 Example Lane, Penzance, Cornwall, TR18 0AA. VAT number: GB 000 0000 00. Email: hello@example.com. Telephone: +44 (0)1736 000000.
These terms apply when you buy from us as a consumer through this website. They do not take away any rights you have under UK law. Please read them before you order; they are also linked from the checkout.
Our products
We make perfume and scented goods in small batches. Each product page lists what is in the bottle, the ingredients (INCI), the allergens we must declare, the volume, how to use the product and any warnings. The same information is printed on the box, together with the batch number and the name and address of the Responsible Person: Maison Elowen Ltd, 1 Example Lane, Penzance, Cornwall, TR18 0AA, United Kingdom. Please read the ingredients before use.
Because our raw materials vary from one harvest to the next, the colour of a perfume may differ slightly from one batch to another. Photographs are for guidance.
Prices
All prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT at the current rate. The delivery charge is shown on the product page, in your bag and before you pay: delivery within the UK is free on orders over £75 and costs £4.95 otherwise. If we find a pricing mistake before dispatch we will contact you and you may confirm the order at the correct price or cancel it.
Placing an order
Your order is an offer to buy. We send an email confirming we have received it; the contract between us is made when we send the dispatch email. We may decline an order if an item is out of stock, if there was a pricing error, if the delivery address is outside the United Kingdom for a product we can only post within the UK, or if our payment provider flags the order as fraudulent. If we decline an order you have paid for, we refund you in full.
The final button in the checkout is labelled so that it is clear you are placing an order with an obligation to pay.
Payment
Payment is taken at the time you order, through the payment methods shown at checkout. We do not see or store your card details.
Delivery
We post orders within two working days of receiving them, by Royal Mail Tracked 48, which usually takes a further two to three working days. We will email you the tracking reference. Perfume is a flammable liquid (UN1266) and we can only post it within the United Kingdom. If you ask us to deliver to an address outside the UK we will contact you and refund the fragrance items.
The goods are your responsibility from the moment they are delivered to the address you gave. If your order has not arrived within 30 days of the dispatch email, you may cancel and we will refund you.
The Discovery Set credit
When you buy the Discovery Set we send you a single-use code worth the price of the set (£24). It can be used once, against one 50 ml or 100 ml bottle, within 90 days of your Discovery Set order, on this website, for delivery within the UK. It has no cash value, cannot be combined with another discount code in the same order and is not transferable.
Your free sample
Every order includes a 2 ml sample while stocks last. It is chosen by us, has no cash value and does not change the price of your order.
Your right to cancel (14 days)
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you may cancel your order for any reason within 14 days of the day you (or someone you nominate) receive the goods. If your order arrives in more than one parcel, the 14 days run from the last parcel.
To cancel, tell us in a clear statement by email to hello@example.com or by post to 1 Example Lane, Penzance, Cornwall, TR18 0AA, within those 14 days. You may use the model form below but you do not have to. Then send the goods back to us within 14 days of telling us, unused, with the seal intact and in the original box. You pay the cost of return postage unless the goods are faulty.
We refund the price of the goods and our standard delivery charge within 14 days of receiving the goods back, or of receiving your proof of posting if that is earlier, using the payment method you used. We may reduce the refund if the goods have been handled more than is needed to inspect them in the way you would in a shop.
The seal: what you cannot return once it is broken
Perfume, hand wash and the Discovery Set vials are sealed for hygiene and health protection. Under regulation 28 of the 2013 Regulations, the right to cancel does not apply to sealed goods of this kind once the seal has been broken. If you have opened a bottle, we cannot take it back unless it is faulty. If you are not sure a perfume is for you, start with the Discovery Set, which is the honest way to try before you commit to a full bottle. Candles are not hygiene-sealed, so an unused candle in its original box may be returned within the 14 days.
Model cancellation form
Complete and return this form only if you wish to cancel the contract.

If something is wrong with your order
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 the goods we sell must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If a product arrives damaged, leaking, faulty or not as described, tell us at hello@example.com as soon as you can and we will arrange a replacement or a full refund, and pay the cost of returning it. Within 30 days of delivery you may reject a faulty product for a full refund; after that you are entitled to a repair or replacement, and if that is not possible, to a price reduction or a refund. These rights are separate from, and in addition to, your 14-day right to cancel.
Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for business losses, because we sell to consumers only. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.
Events outside our control
If something outside our reasonable control delays your order, we will tell you as soon as we can and will take steps to reduce the delay. If the delay is substantial, you may cancel and we will refund you.
Your information
How we use your personal information is explained in our Privacy notice.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with anything, please tell us. Our Complaints page explains how we handle complaints and what you can do if we cannot agree.
Law and courts
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you may bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland you may also bring a claim in the Scottish courts, and if you live in Northern Ireland, in the Northern Irish courts.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The terms that apply to your order are the ones published on the day you place it.
